Teaching a bunch of Thai kids Maths and Science has proved to be very hit and miss. Tuesdays I have a full day teaching between 8 and 4 which is so tiring let me tell you and to top it off the teacher which I'm meant to be assisting was busy so I was left to occupy 15 non-english speakers on my own for 4 hours. Surprisingly it was actually ok and with a little patience and repetition they eventually got on with what I was
trying to teach them and it worked really well. Playing games with them (even though they're 16-18 and in

the UK sixth form students would be having NONE of that shit) seems to really keep them motivated. I guess they aren't used to playing games in the classroom. Also I think because they didn't have a teacher to translate into Thai, they were forced to pay attention to me.
Thai kids are very different from what I have learnt. It apparently is perfectly acceptable to stare into a mirror for 45 minutes or take selfies the ENTIRE lesson. On the plus side, one English word I don't have to teach them is "selfie" cuz they absolutely LOVE it. I have lost count of the amount of photos I have been in and that's only the ones I'm paying attention. No one has a problem with taking a photo of me completely unaware it seems. I'm hoping I wont ever have to see these pictures- I can't imagine I'm looking too attractive these days. Sweaty with humidity hair. Yuck.

| Super proud of my dominoes game. I am a loser. |
In the evening one of the teachers, Miss Morn, invited us for dinner and cooked traditional Thai food for us. I have absolutely no idea what anything was but it was actually really nice and it was cute to listen to Morn talking about her wedding which will be over the August long weekend here. She even asked us to come too which was so sweet! How often is it that people get to go to a Thai wedding?! Also I have seen a picture of her wedding dress and it is so perfect I'm so excited! Not as excited as our mentor Pinky, who when she mentioned to me that she wanted to wear a dress exactly like the one in my Facebook profile picture and I said she could borrow the actual dress if she wanted, looked like she was going to cry bless her. She even invited me to visit her hometown with her over this long weekend which I might take her up on as it'll be really nice to see another

part of Thailand and, in all honesty, I'm really enjoying seeing parts of Thailand which tourists don't necessarily go to. There's only so many fat, old, Australian men squeezed into a pair of speedos from 1981 you can take.
At the minute I'm enjoying spending time with the hospitality EP 2 class which are fast becoming my favourites. My job at the minute is to teach them how to take orders and serve coffee in English to some important people coming from Bangkok next week and it's so much fun. They speak relatively good english so you can sort of have a conversation with them too and they're very cute.

| Durians- are about as appealing as they look |
Despite the fact that I ate a Durian today, I had a relatively good day. Durians are fruits which Thais basically worship. Why I have no idea cuz it smells like a gas leak and tastes a little bit like vomit. It's not the most pleasant food item in the world. To sum it up for you, there are signs in hotels and taxis which say "No durians" as they smell so bad. But, when in Thailand...
